PRAYER FOR THE WEEK March 25, 2019

Mar 27, 2019

You are the all in all. We saw you in the flames and the smoke which stung our eyes. We threw more wood onto the fire until the smoke covered us. Then the winds came, the fire grew, and it was almost too much to stand. We stepped back and grew colder and the fire died a little. Embers still popped and cracked, but there were lots of ashes. So draw us near to the fires of your love that we do not grow stiff with the cold. Help us to find the material to build up the fire again and send your winds to make it blaze so that the cold night will burst with the orange light of your glory. The night cannot contain your light, and we need to see your uncontrollable glory. Help us kindle these flames oh lord, for we are but creatures with sticks and rocks, seeking to light the world. Amen

Attending worship service on Sunday morning gets my week started out great and with a purpose. I take great joy in service to the members of my church being a deacon. It is an honor to partake of the Lord's Supper. The format of the worship service is similar to the way it was when I was a boy growing up in this church. My parents were faithful members here and I can touch their memories each Sunday. Sometime certain hymns bring back wonderful memories of my parents, Red & Jeane Williams. I also enjoy and take comfort from fellowship with my church family and friends. We are so fortunate to have Rev. Jordan Byrd. He brings insight and clarity to the scriptures in a unique way. I always gain knowledge from his messages and also practicable ways to apply God's Word into everyday life experiences.
